Semi-naked and Buttercream
If you’re not a fan of the traditional icing that typically covers most wedding cakes, a semi-naked or buttercream cake is just as delicious as it is visually striking. Semi-naked and buttercream cakes are on-trend and it’s not hard to see why. Quite simply, they look fabulous. Adorned with flowers and fruit, these cakes look surprisingly elegant. They have a certain rustic appeal and are absolutely perfect for any vintage-themed wedding.
WHAT IS SO GOOD ABOUTSemi- NAKED and buttercream CAKES?
There is something incredibly elegant about a naked cake. Traditionally iced wedding cakes aren’t to everyone’s taste. Un-iced wedding cakes, on the other hand, are becoming surprisingly popular and make a refreshing change from the traditional.
We think semi-naked and buttercream cakes are a delightful alternative. They not only look pretty, but they’re also generally more popular for eating too.
At Tilly Eats Cake we get really excited about making semi-naked and buttercream cakes, because they showcase our delicious cakes and fillings so beautifully. We are pretty good at making them look equally as glamourous as traditional cakes too.
Semi-Naked cakes
If you’re looking for a wedding cake to complement a rustic and vintage vibe, a semi-naked cake is a perfect choice. Choose decorations to match the bridal bouquet, to complement table decorations, or simply pretty up with beautiful seasonal berries and fruits.
Semi-naked cakes are the perfect alternative between buttercream and traditionally iced wedding cakes. With a semi-naked cake, icing is scraped thinly around the outside of the cake layers and over the top. This technique creates an interesting texture, looks super stylish and brings a more contemporary feel to the rustic look of a completely naked cake.
Your naked cake can be tiered or made in individual layers, and topped with fresh fruit, flowers or both for a stunning rustic wedding cake design. Anything goes with these scrumptious, buttercream oozing tiers of deliciousness – so get in touch to discuss how you would like yours to be. NOTE: It may not be advised to have a semi naked/buttercream cake in the summer months due to humidity, this can be discussed apon enquiry.
Buttercream cakes
Still don’t like an iced cake, but you want something a little less rustic and more sophisticated, opt for the buttercream cake, same as the semi- naked but with lashings of buttercream to cover the cake beneath, these cakes can be adorned with your chosen flowers or lashings of seasonal fruit and even topped with your own unique cake topper.
